Yep, another silly Bravo pun. And I most definitely am-- tardy, that is...for the GIVEAWAY. Shame on me! Thank you for all the sweet compliments on Stella, and for sharing your resolutions with me. Without further ado--
The winner of the fabulous Kenner Road kit is Shelly Pope! Please email me your shipping info, Shelly, so we can promptly send you the winnings. :)
Whew! January turned into a crazy month around here. It was a solid 2 weeks of kit packaging frenzy, followed up with sick babies, emergency room visits, birthday celebrations, and house projects. I'm glad it's over! Hopefully this month will be a little less hectic. I'll spare you the details of the sick kiddos, but here's a few shots of my sweet Olivia's party. Even though we're buried under mounds of snow, she desperately wanted a butterfly birthday. I simply had to oblige.
We started out with butterfly
transformations, dressing in wings and tutus. We had a professional
face-painter complete their looks with glittery butterfly masks. She did a fantastic job! The
girls were so cute-- I kept catching them admiring themselves in the
mirror throughout the entire party.
Next was a fairy luncheon with tea sandwiches, fruit skewers, and raspberry frappe. The girls were very careful to eat without smudging their lipstick. ;) We made personalized shrinky-dink charms and beaded necklaces for party favors and a fun craft.
When planning her party, Olivia HAD to have a 2 tiered cake. I mean C'mon-- she's 7 now! There were literally tears over this silly cake. I did my best, but won't be quitting my day job any time soon. It was almond pound cake (I wanted something moist and dense so the layers would hold up.) with raspberry mousse filling, fluffy buttercream, and marshmallow fondant decorations. Don't look too close. It tasted better than it looked.
Despite a pesky little brother who insisted on being a puppy and CHASING the butterflies, the party went off without a hitch. We had a great time!
My very favorite event was at the end of the party when the girls performed an impromptu butterfly ballet on our playroom stage. Liv's not shy when it comes to her dancing *skills* and was a bit of a stage hog proudly prancing front and center. I assure you, she gets that from her daddy. ;)
(The voice you hear on the video is my Mom, a.k.a Grammy. I was filming and doing my best not to giggle the whole time.)
Anyhow, I hope you've enjoyed a little glimpse into our life. Happy February all!
