Here's a quick little glimpse at what we've got cookin' around here. I don't know about you, but summer cannot get here fast enough. My impatience for warm temps, lazy days by the pool, and watermelon picnics are just a few of the anticipated events that inspired the latest designS (<----- yes, that's a little hint.) You'll look perfect while hostessing those summer BBQ's or whipping up a batch of fresh lemonade. Check back Saturday for the full reveal!
Yep, another silly Bravo pun. And I most definitely am-- tardy, that is...for the GIVEAWAY. Shame on me! Thank you for all the sweet compliments on Stella, and for sharing your resolutions with me. Without further ado--
The winner of the fabulous Kenner Road kit is Shelly Pope! Please email me your shipping info, Shelly, so we can promptly send you the winnings. :)
Whew! January turned into a crazy month around here. It was a solid 2 weeks of kit packaging frenzy, followed up with sick babies, emergency room visits, birthday celebrations, and house projects. I'm glad it's over! Hopefully this month will be a little less hectic. I'll spare you the details of the sick kiddos, but here's a few shots of my sweet Olivia's party. Even though we're buried under mounds of snow, she desperately wanted a butterfly birthday. I simply had to oblige.
We started out with butterfly
transformations, dressing in wings and tutus. We had a professional
face-painter complete their looks with glittery butterfly masks. She did a fantastic job! The
girls were so cute-- I kept catching them admiring themselves in the
mirror throughout the entire party.
Next was a fairy luncheon with tea sandwiches, fruit skewers, and raspberry frappe. The
girls were very careful to eat without smudging their lipstick. ;) We
made personalized shrinky-dink charms and beaded necklaces for party favors and a fun craft.
When planning her party, Olivia HAD to have a 2 tiered cake. I mean C'mon-- she's 7 now! There were literally tears over this silly cake. I did my best, but won't be quitting my day job any time soon. It was almond pound cake (I wanted something moist and dense so the layers would hold up.) with raspberry mousse filling, fluffy buttercream, and marshmallow fondant decorations. Don't look too close. It tasted better than it looked.
Despite a pesky little brother who insisted on being a puppy and CHASING the butterflies, the party went off without a hitch. We had a great time!
My very favorite event was at the end of the party when the girls performed an impromptu butterfly ballet on our playroom stage. Liv's not shy when it comes to her dancing *skills* and was a bit of a stage hog proudly prancing front and center. I assure you, she gets that from her daddy. ;)
(The voice you hear on the video is my Mom, a.k.a Grammy. I was filming and doing my best not to giggle the whole time.)
Anyhow, I hope you've enjoyed a little glimpse into our life. Happy February all!
You'll want to read clear to the bottom of this post. I promise. But for now, allow me to introduce Stella:
Just how sassy would you feel sporting this little number? Mmmmm-hmmmm...that's right, Stella's most definitely saucy. And ever so sweet. So if you need a little pick-me-up to get moving on those chores, hop on over to the shop. This one will certainly put a new spring in your step. *wink*
Let's begin 2010 with a little fun, shall we? The extremely generous Kerry Lynn over at Kenner Road has offered up one of her delightful kits for the giving! (You really must check out her site. It's fantastic.) With her keen eye for combinations, Kerry Lynn assembles the most wonderful products into paper crafting kits. Specialty papers, sparkly embellishments, and vintage goodies-- just imagine all the projects you could create. (And if you're a little paper challenged, as I am, she displays beautiful ideas in the KR gallery to give you a boost.)
All you need to do to enter:
-Leave a comment on this post
-Include your name and email address
-Tell me one resolution you've made for the new year. (A little compliment on my new Stella apron wouldn't hurt either.)
-Oh, and if you'd like to become a "facebook fan", I'll throw your name in twice. ;)
Best of luck! The winner will be chosen at random next Wednesday, January 6th.
**Update January 7th: Thanks so much for all the love. The winner will be announced shortly!**
We're ushering in the New Year with a fantastic little pinny and a GIVEAWAY you won't want to miss. A departure from the classic apron design, I really hope you like it. I know I say it every time, but this one's my favorite. My very FAVORITE favorite. So after all the festivities have died down on Friday, come back and check her out.
p.s. I've also procured another bolt of fabric needed for the Grace apron. There will be about a dozen *leftovers* available in the shop for those as well.
Here she is-- the latest in the OliveJuice family of frocks:
See what I was saying-- you just might have to keep this one for yourself. ;) There will be new subscription memberships available in the shop until November 7th (Assuming the kits don't all sell out first.) after which they will be made available as the one-time-purchase option.
And just because I'm a proud Mommy and haven't shared pics of my babies in an awfully long time, here's a look back at our Halloween.
As you can see, it was a bit scary at times. But nothing a little sugar couldn't fix.
I really think you're going to like this one. It's perfect to wear while hostessing all those holiday parties, or to give as a gift. (Although, if it were me, I think I'd have to keep this one for myself! *wink*)
**IMPORTANT CLUB INFO:**
Typically, new subscriptions are available on the 1st day of the month. This time around, that falls on a Sunday-- which we honor as the Sabbath and a day of rest. If you don't mind, I'm switching it to Monday, November 2nd. Please email me with any questions.
(Yes, that was a totally cheesy Rachel Zoe pun. Do y'all watch it?? Ba-nanas, huh?! ;)
Gads!! LOTS of orders coming in for Posh Squash kits. THANK YOU!!! I've changed things up just a bit and now offer kits to make 2, 3, or 4 pumpkins. So far it looks like the favorites are Raisin, Saffron, and Caramel. Mmmmmmm......
Ok, gotta get back to work-- I'm up to my eyeballs in dye and having so much fun. Every time my hands turn a different color I think, "Oh my gosh. I DYE!" *snicker*
If you missed out on "Charlotte" and want a chance to win a kit, head on over to see my sweet friends at Kenner Road. While you're there, take a look at the October sneak peek! (Kerry Lynn has fantastic taste and combines the ultimate paper project kits. She's amazing-- and just about as kind as they come!)
Oh, and for those who liked the Posh Squash, kits will be available in the shop very soon. ;)
Hello friends. And happy fall! We woke to snow this morning. SNOW! I couldn't believe it. We'd been savoring the last remaining days of warmth knowing it was to quickly end. But WHAMMY, it's definitely a shocker to the system to have things turn cold so fast. Time to put away the summer duds and break out the wool, corduroy, and....ahem, perfectly delightful hand-dyed velvet--
Anyone up for making some "Posh Squash" to celebrate?
